The county inspects a few specific things. Not the whole home. That gap is where problems hide.
New construction actually works in your favor if you use it — unlike resale, where you're negotiating repair by repair, a builder will typically just fix what an inspector finds. If it's up to code, they won't touch it. But if there's an issue, Lisa says it's worthwhile knowing it's there before you close, not after.
