Holly Frandsen came out of marketing. Her mother-in-law, Tracy Frandsen, had been selling real estate for 15 or 16 years. They merged forces — her marketing, Tracy's experience and detail — and built the Frandsen Team.

The part most agents skip is what came next. They kept it small deliberately. Same expectations on showings. Same expectations at the listing presentation. Same standard for every client, because both partners hold the same one and they lean on each other for just about everything.

Holly's warning on scaling: "sometimes when you do get too big as a team, you can grow a little bit big for your britches — and the quality's not necessarily there."
