Most new agents hire a marketing person first. Angela Stancil says that's backwards.
Angela Stancil, Team Davidow, Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty. Her answer to "who's your first hire" isn't what most agents expect.
"I would say the transaction coordinator would be the first hire. The transaction is more important than the pretty marketing things at first. You need your business to flow and work, and the money to come in so that you can do the pretty things."
Her reasoning: if you're three days straight in the car with an out-of-town buyer while an appraiser goes rogue on another deal, somebody has to be closing that other transaction. Marketing gets you the lead. A transaction coordinator gets you paid.
